COORDINATOR OF THE GISM NEXT-GENERATION GROUP

The “Italian Mesenchymal Stem Cell Group“ (in Italian: “Gruppo Italiano Staminali Mesenchimali” - GISM) is opening a call for applications to select the next Coordinator of the Next-Generation Group. This group is dedicated to fostering collaborations, networking, and growth among young researchers working in the field of mesenchymal stem cells.

ELIGIBILITY:

All researchers under the age of 40 are eligible to apply for the position of Coordinator of the Next-Generation Group. The selected candidate will serve a term of 3 calendar years, including the year of selection, or until s/he reach the age of 40. Previous Coordinators are eligible to reapply.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Facilitate communication between the Next-Generation group and the GISM board.

- Promote networking opportunities among young researchers within GISM.

- Organize educational events, workshops, and meetings tailored to the young researchers.

- Develop initiatives that enhance the visibility and impact of young researchers in the field.

- Propose new projects and collaborations aligned with the mission of GISM.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Interested candidates are invited to submit the following documents:
a) A one-page Curriculum Vitae (CV) including affiliations, year of birth, H-index, number of scientific publications in journals indexed with Impact Factor in the Journal Citation Reports, patents, and relevant professional experiences.
b) A one-page Motivation Letter describing:
- Vision for the Next-Generation Group.
- Key objectives and initiatives to be implemented during the mandate.
- Motivation for applying for this role.

Candidates do not need to be GISM members at the time of application; however, membership is required upon selection for the role of Coordinator.

DEADLINE AND SUBMISSION:

All applicants will be notified of the outcome.

March 12-13, 2026. Third Conference of the federation: "Federazione Associazioni Ricerca sulle Cellule Staminali" (STEMNET)" to which GISM is member with the other sicieties First, Iplass, and Stem Cells Research Italy!

The STEMNET2026 conference will take place in beautiful BOLOGNA, in the confortable hotel: "Zanhotel Europa, Via Cesare Boldrini, 11, 40121 Bologna, Italy"!

The 2-day program is full of different sessions which will be of interest to all doctors and researchers involved in the production, application and study of stem cells.

Many international guests will be present!

There will also be a section dedicated to researchers "under 40" with a contest for the selection of the speakers:

     - Deadline for the presentation of the "StemNet Next Generation – Contest2026" abstracts: 15/January/2026.

Finally, 3 "Young Investigator Awards" of 500 Euros each will be awarded to researchers "under 35", first authors of presented Abstract (the rules for the preparation of the Abstracts and all the details are reported in the PDF of the Conference Program).

Il workshop si propone di esplorare il ruolo delle vescicole extracellulari (EVs) come strumento chiave nella medicina rigenerativa, ponendo l’accento su un approccio traslazionale che parte dalla clinica e si sviluppa attraverso modelli sperimentali avanzati. L’evento offrirà una panoramica integrata sulle sfide cliniche, sulla selezione e validazione dei modelli preclinici, e sulle prospettive di applicazione delle EVs in ambito terapeutico.
